THE SITE IS SITUATED approx.
¾ mile South-West of Wakefield city centre, in Thornes Park,
off the main A642 Horbury Road (route signs to Huddersfield), at OS
grid reference SE-320-200. There will be plenty of rally signs to
follow. The post code is WF2 8TY
FROM THE M1 (Southbound)
Exit at junction 40 and take the A638 left
towards Wakefield. Continue in towards the city centre for 2 miles,
past Morrison's supermarket on the left, until you come to a small
gyratory system with St Michael's church in the centre. Take the
right hand lane, go right round the church and head almost 180°
back on yourself in the direction of Horbury and Huddersfield. The
site entrance is 250 yards on your left, just after the Parklands
Hotel, and immediately before the pedestrian crossing.
FROM THE M1 (Northbound)
Exit at junction 39 and take the A636 right
towards Wakefield. After ¾ mile, continue straight on at a
large roundabout, still on the A636 for Wakefield. Continue for a
further ¾ mile, into the 30 mph zone, and under a railway
bridge. Move into the left hand lane, and continue straight on at a
small roundabout, signposted to the City Centre, with the Travel
Inn on your left. Stay in the left hand lane, and after 400 yards,
turn left into Park Avenue immediately before a pedestrian
crossing, which is about 100 yards short of the next roundabout. If
you miss, go round and try again! Continue for just over ½
mile to the end of the avenue, and then turn left opposite West End
Marine Ltd, and the site entrance is 100 yards on your left, just
after the Parklands Hotel, and immediately before the pedestrian
crossing
FROM THE CITY CENTRE
Follow signs to Huddersfield & Dewsbury.
Eventually, these two routes diverge at a junction with St.
Michael's Church in the centre. Bear slightly left towards Horbury
& Huddersfield, and the site entrance is 250 yards on your
left, just after the Parklands Hotel, and immediately before the
pedestrian crossing.
